Easter Weekend

Our amazing cook....Mom (or Ruby) :) Mike and his sister, Sherri, enjoying the meal...and pound cake!
This is a puzzle that Sherri, Ruby and I started.... (It's the picture on the box.) ...four hours later when I was leaving for home...
...aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!! This is the most frustrating puzzle I've ever tried to put together. Good luck finishing it, Ruby! :)
From right to left...Mike, his brother Scotty and Scotty's son Corey watching fishing.
Dying Easter eggs...

Scotty playing the guitar and harmonica while Corey listens...
Corey loves playing card games...especially with his dad.
We had a great time this weekend!

Daniel

I was just going through some pictures of Kari's on Winkflash and I found this picture of Daniel that I hadn't seen before. It looks like he's using a door pull from the kitchen(?) as a pacifier! Isn't he just so cute?

Spring Break '07

I finally get a Spring Break! This is the 9th year that I've lived in NC and the 1st time I've gotten a week-long Spring Break! Usually we just get the Friday and Monday around Easter. So, this year Mike and I went to the Outer Banks for a couple of days. We're staying at his brother's house. It was supposed to be cold with severe thunderstorms today, but fortunately, it was mostly sunny and 80 today! It was beautiful! Here are some pictures from the fun we had today.... We happened upon a little po-dunk restaurant in Nags Head today and it is our favorite by far. I had the blackened tuna sandwich with strawberries and goat cheese (pictured below). It was delicious!

Currituck Beach Lighthouse

Kia loves to play on the beach! She was so excited!

Spring Break '07 Part II

Brrrr.....that water is cold!!!!

By the time we made it to the beach this afternoon, the temperature had dropped to 60!!
What a beautiful way to end the day....before we ate out for supper, anyway! :)

Old Salem

Today we went to Old Salem to walk around and see the houses and learn about the history of the Moravians. When the Moravians came over to the states, they built the town of Salem and only Moravians could live there.

Mom and Kevin in front of the covered bridge where we crossed over to the past.....

Rachel and Aunt Tara as we were waiting to eat lunch at the Salem Tavern....we were teasing Rachel about the woman on the other side of the window watching her....
We were waiting on Mom to get out of a book shop.... Rachel was smacking Uncle Kevin on the head with her new fan.
Rachel, Tara, Mom and I took a carriage ride with Rusty the horse pulling us. When Mom said she was from Marion, IN, the guy driving asked if we were Wesleyans! He attends a Wesleyan church in the area and said that Tom Kinnan was preaching a revival a few years back and he renewed his walk with Christ. What a small world!
It's not a stuffed animal! :)
....at God's Acre...this is where all the Moravians from Old Salem were buried. Can you see Dad in the background? We went inside this church, the Moravian Home Church, which was built in 1800.

It was a beautiful day today! The afternoon started out in the 60s and then warmed up quite nicely! We had a great time! :)

Rachel, Part II

Rachel with my sunglasses when we were eating out at the Country Kitchen....
....at the Japanese restaurant with her "pork chops"...yep, that's what she called them!
...we did her hair fancy....
.....more to come...

Rachel

I know, I know...it's been forever since I've posted anything....except on Kevin's blog. :) So, tomorrow I will post pictures of things Rachel and I have been doing...only after I get home from school, of course. She is in bed right now with her new friend, Wrinkles, a dog she got at Cracker Barrell....I take that back...now she's in here talking to me when she's supposed to be in bed. What fun we are having! :)
