Cool View...

Mike needed to visit some customers in Florida, so I went with him and we got to see the shuttle launch. It was so cool! I've never seen anything like it. When it was pretty high in the sky, we finally heard the thunder from the take-off.....powerful!

That is so cool! Didn't a teacher go up this time?

Yes, a teacher did go up. Evidently, she was the backup for Christa McCaullif(?) in 1986, and then when she finally got a date set to go up in 2002, the Columbia disaster happened. So, after 20 years, she finally got to go up on the space shuttle! Evidently, the shuttle has had to power up the space station when it lost power, and on this trip they are going to shut down the shuttle to see if the space station can power it up. This is in preparation for future trips to Mars where they will have to fly to the space station and then on to other stops (possibly other space stations?) to fuel up and such before going on to Mars.
